Essential Services
Essential services are those that are necessary for sustaining human life and include: collection of food and water, disposal of waste and sewage, health and medical treatment, education and other emergency needs. These services may have been planned into the sustainable solution, however, in some cases a lack of resources can result in the exclusion of some services that can become essential at a later time. Essential services can be provided in a number of ways and generally require the transfer of resources, technology or knowledge to the area in need. Some services can be provided as self-contained mobile solutions such as medical treatment, education, water filtration and even atmospheric water generators. Other methods include providing equipment, skilled professionals and training to build or develop the service on-site.
